The purslane usually grows spread out
flat on the ground. This one climbed up over the edge of the
pot. Both stems and leaves are succulent (thick and juicy).
Like most succlent plants, it clones easily from stem fragments
Unlike the garden varieties of
Portulaca, the purslane has small flowers which are hardly noticable.
These
are seedlings of the purslane. I usually try to remove them from
my garden at about this stage of growth.
